Amazon listing checker
Check an Amazon listing against 2025 title rules, bullet best practice and the 250-byte backend search term limit. Test target keyword coverage.
What Amazon's search reads
Amazon matches searches against the title, bullets, description, backend search terms and the attributes in your category template. Attributes matter more than many sellers think: shoppers filter by material, size, colour and power source, and a blank attribute removes your product from those filtered results.
2025 title rules
In January 2025 Amazon tightened product title requirements for most categories: a maximum of 200 characters including spaces, no promotional phrases, no special characters such as ! $ ? _ { } ^ ¬ ¦ unless they're part of the brand, and no word repeated more than twice. Check your category's style guide for stricter limits.
Backend search terms
Use the backend field for synonyms, alternate spellings and other languages your buyers use, not for words already in the title. In most marketplaces Amazon indexes this field only when it's under 250 bytes, so going over can waste the whole field.
A quick structure that works
Title: brand + product type + key attributes (material, size, count) + main use. Bullets: start with the benefit in a few capitalised words, then the spec that proves it.
